Teck read medicine at Sheffield University and law at Cardiff University. Active as a GP and a forensic physician, he works across the counties of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire.
In 2006, Teck founded the Leicestershire Health Consortium, one of the largest GP commissioning groups in the East Midlands; he is currently Chairman of the Consortium.
He is also a member of the Local Medical Committee, a past-president of the Leicestershire and Rutland Division of the BMA and a past-president of the Leicestershire Medico-Legal Society. Teck was a member of the BMA Working Party on Medical Chambers in 2002.
